FAQ

  • Do you offer refunds or exchanges?
    Products purchased at full price are fully guaranteed and can be exchanged for another product of equal or lesser value. Chemical services are guaranteed within 15 days only if the recommended take-home products were purchased at time of appointment. All other products and services are non-refundable.
  • Can I bring my kids to my appointment?
    For safety reasons, children are not permitted on the clinic floor unless receiving a service. If waiting in our reservation area, they must be supervised by an adult.
  • Can I get a service done by an instructor?
    Unless an instructor has solicited you to be a model for demonstration, all services are performed by students under the supervision of an instructor.
  • Can children get services?
    For haircut and nail services, children must be at least 5 years old. For chemical services, children must be at least 12 years old.
  • Do you offer Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)?
    At this time, we do not offer Federal Student Aid. For financial assistance, all students are encouraged to apply for a scholarship through The Visage Foundation.
  • What is the "Pre-Entrance Academic Assessment" (P.E.A.A.)?
    Before applying for admission, every prospective student must pass the Pre-Entrance Academic Assessment with proficiency: 90-100% = (4) Advanced, Pass - Eligible to enroll (T1) 70-89% = (3) Proficient, Pass - Eligible to enroll with moderate interventions (T2) 50-69% = (2) Below Proficient, Pass - Eligible to enroll with modified curriculum and intensive interventions (T3) 0-69% = (1) Beginning Proficiency, Fail - Ineligible to enroll at this time The skills assessed in this evaluation include: Word Recognition, Vocabulary Knowledge, Comprehension, Fluency, Text Structure & Organization, Critical Thinking, Author’s Purpose & Point of View, Summarization, Making Predictions and General Mathematics. Those candidates who do not meet proficiency will be required to take interventions as part of their miscellaneous program hours for program completion.
  • What are your application requirements?
    All prospective students who apply for admission must: Be at least 16 years of age upon enrollment Have a High School Diploma or equivalency Foreign Diplomas must provide verification from outside agency that is qualified to translate documents into English and confirm the academic equivalence to a U.S. high school diploma. Home-schooled students must provide a state-issued diploma If official transcripts are submitted in lieu of a diploma, they must show 10th grade completion. Have a Driver’s license or State ID
  • Do students have to wear a uniform?
    The Visage Institute of Beauty & Excellence is dedicated to fostering a professional environment that prepares students for success in the beauty and wellness industry. Therefore, our dress code policy ensures that all students present themselves in a manner that reflects the high standards of our institution and the industry. All Black Attire: Students are required to wear professional, all-black clothing. This includes tops, and bottoms. Clothing must be clean, well-fitted, and in good condition. Acceptable all-black attire includes: Black blouses or shirts Black pants, slacks, or skirts (length should be no shorter than tips of fingers at rest) Black dresses (length should be no shorter than knee-length) Black sweaters or jackets Black shoes must be worn. They should be closed-toe and clean. Accessories, if worn, should be minimal and professional. Jewelry should be simple and not pose a safety hazard. Clinic/Service Uniforms: When participating in clinic or service-related activities, students must wear the designated uniform provided by the Institute. These uniforms are designed to promote a cohesive and professional image. Uniforms must be clean, pressed, and well-maintained at all times. Shoes worn with uniforms must be appropriate for the clinic environment, typically black and closed-toe for safety. Hair: Hair must be clean, well-groomed, and styled professionally. Long hair should be neatly tied back or styled to avoid interference with services. Makeup: If makeup is worn, it should be applied tastefully and professionally, reflecting industry standards. Nails: Nails should be clean, well-manicured, and of a length that does not interfere with practical work. Fragrance: Use of fragrances should be minimal to avoid causing discomfort to clients, particularly in a close-service environment. The following are unacceptable and in violation of the dress code: Clothing with brand/political/religious logos, profanity, or slogans Activewear: leggings, tank tops, sports bras, sneakers Loungewear: sweatshirts, sweatpants, UGGs Swimwear: swimsuits, open-toed shoes, flip-flops/sandals Workwear: Jeans By adhering to this dress code and professional image policy, students at The Visage Institute of Beauty & Excellence demonstrate their commitment to professionalism in the beauty industry and high standards of our institution.
  • What is the enrollment process?
    To be considered for enrollment, each applicant must complete the following: Complete the Pre-Entrance Academic Evaluation Submit $100.00 application fee with Application for Admission Submit a written "Letter of Intent" which expresses your desire to enter the beauty industry and why you feel you are a good candidate to receive your education at The Visage Institute of Beauty & Excellence Submit copy of your High School Diploma (or equivalency) Submit copy of Driver’s License (or State ID) Sign and submit the Future Professional Catalog Agreement (page 57 of Student Catalog)
